I am a volunteer with Citizens for Conservation focusing on bird conservation. I help educate and organize citizen scientists who monitor Eastern Bluebird and Purple Martin nest boxes during their breeding season. The goal of monitoring is to provide habitat for these species and ultimately to increase their population.
I am a birder and nature lover first and an amateur photographer second. I have always enjoyed photography – it helps aid in the identification of bird and plant species that your eye cannot always capture. Further, this type of photographic documentation is often an essential part of tracing bird migration, nesting success, and changes in numbers of birds over time. I strive to capture bird (and other wildlife) behavior in their natural habitat. I am filled with joy and wonder observing their colors, patterns, interactions and behaviors. I hope sharing my photos raises awareness about, and fosters a greater appreciation for these unique and beautiful creatures.
