I grew up on a farm that was more woods and swamp than field and pasture. It was a great place to roam around, and I’ve always been comfortable outside in all seasons. I was also the kid always listening to adults telling stories. Now I look at the oaks and the prairies and wonder what stories they have to tell.
I have always been interested in photography, and video for a number of years. I have lived in six states and have visited 38 more, as well as several countries. The native plants and animals in northern Illinois are the most fragile and threatened of any I’ve seen, but we’ve also had great success here in restoring complete ecosystems. Being personally involved in bringing back the natural beauty of Illinois is a source of great pride to me.
